Simple Fluffy and Chewy Steamed Bread

I wanted to create a quick breakfast.
After adding the flour, mix the batter with a spatula, taking care not knead or over-mix.
The firmness of the batter will change with the addition of jam, so make sure to add just a little milk (the recipe says 1 teaspoon, though the amount required depends on the consistency of the jam). Recipe by AyakoOOOOO

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Put the egg and sugar in a bowl, then mix with a whisk.
- 2
Add the vegetable oil and milk to Step 1 in that order, and mix together briskly. If using jam, mix it in here.
- 3
Add the cake flour and baking powder to Step 2 and use a spatula to mix it together quickly, ensuring that no lumps remain.
- 4
If you added jam, add the accompanying 1 teaspoon of milk.
- 5
If you want to add matcha or cocoa powder, mix in here (this is with matcha).
- 6
Pour the batter into the molds, then microwave the buns on the steam setting (put it on high if you can) for 15 minutes.
- 7
Once the bread has puffed up to about 1.5 times its original size, take it out of the microwave. Done!
- 8
This picture shows plain and strawberry bread (made with strawberry jam and a bit of food coloring, as the color wasn't very strong).

Chewy and Fluffy Steamed Bread Chewy and Fluffy Steamed Bread
I used to make carrot steamed bread as baby food for my eldest daughter when she was young. I was using pancake mix everyday but now I use cake flour to save money. The photo shows the ones with soy milk and brown sugar. In Step 4, make sure the kitchen towel (to prevent water dripping onto the bread) is tightly wrung or it will touch the bread. For those using a gas range, pay extra attention. If you are using shallow ramekins, I suggest using a steamer rack (available at 100 yen shops). Using ramekins works best and helps the bread to expand fully.I made them less sweet so adjust to taste. It would be great if you could let me what way you decide to make these. Fluffy and Moist Cheese Steamed Bread Fluffy and Moist Cheese Steamed Bread
I'm hooked on steamed bread.A hint is to wrap the steamer lid with cloth. Use non-melting cheese. When the bread cools, wrap with plastic wrap to store the bread. This is an excellent snack as it is low in calories and is filling (compared to cakes). Recipe by Asamato cookpad.japan -
Fluffy Strawberry Steamed Bread Fluffy Strawberry Steamed Bread
I'm challenging myself to make many different versions of steamed bread. There was a sale on frozen goods at my supermarket, so I bought these raspberries. I think homemade raspberry jam tastes much better than store-bought jam!Don't forget to cover the lid of the steamer with a cloth. Once they've cooled, wrap them in plastic wrap and store at room temperature. When you eat them they are soft and the scent of raspberry is delightful. Recipe by Asamato cookpad.japan -
Fluffy Chewy Soft Bread Fluffy Chewy Soft Bread
I created this recipe because I wanted to make very light and chewy bread.I think this bread is softer than baby's bum! This recipe is too easy so there are no special tips, but please handle the bread gently since freshly baked ones are very tender. If you are eating these the day after they're baked, microwave them and they'll become light and fluffy again! Chewy Steamed Bread Chewy Steamed Bread
I had leftover snow cone syrup and leftover pumpkin paste and wondered if I could use these up in the steamed bread. It is hard to mix the mayonnaise and water, so I recommend adding a small amount of water at a time. Personally, I mix them all at once even though it is hard to do. Either ways would make the bread fluffy and chewy. Also, you will not taste the mayonnaise at all, so don't worry. Easy & Chewy Oil-free Steamed Bread Easy & Chewy Oil-free Steamed Bread
I knew how to make oil-free steamed bread, so I made a chewy version. You could use juice or coconut milk instead of milk.To get the marbled effect, when the dough is done, fill all the muffin cups halfway. Mix in a tablespoon of cocoa powder (or instant coffee or matcha) to the remaining batter and pour into the half-filled muffin cups. Drag a toothpick through the batter to swirl the two batters. If it's a bother, you can just make two different types of batter without the marbleized effect. Recipe by nathu cookpad.japan -
Chewy Steamed Bread with Pancake Mix & Bread Flour Chewy Steamed Bread with Pancake Mix & Bread Flour
I really wanted to eat some chewy steamed bread but when I tried to make it with shiratamako, it just wouldn't mix.I should use it for dango instead, so I tried with bread flour and it went quite well.・Pancake mix is a little sweet, whereas rice flour is not, so it needs a bit more sugar than the recipes that use 100% pancake mix.・These have a really light taste so they go well with jam or something similar. Gluten-Free Fluffy Rice Flour Steamed Bread Gluten-Free Fluffy Rice Flour Steamed Bread
My 17 month old has a lot of allergies, including flour. I wanted him to be able to enjoy a fluffy bread so I've been trying out various recipes.Using ideas from various recipes, I finally settled on this.Place the muffin cups into the steamer while it's piping hot, and heat them while the water is boiling. Don't open the lid while they are steaming. If you are unable to eat dairy products and will be using soy milk, I think you should add a little bit more than the recipe states? Fluffy and Chewy Basic Bread Dough Fluffy and Chewy Basic Bread Dough
I wanted to make a dough which I can use for any kind of breads such as savory breads and sweet breads, and this is the recipe that I came up with after a lot of revision. The dough is very soft, so dust the dough with flour if needed. Adjust the amount of water depending on the brand of flour you are using. Add more sugar to your liking when you are using this for sweet bread. Use sugar-resistant yeast in that case.
