Pachi Mamidikaya Pappu Pachi Mamidikaya Pappu
#goldenapron #post19 - Come mango season and you get the opportunity of experimenting with the king of fruits - both raw and ripe. So tried this yummy traditional Andhra style dal or lentil curry made with Tuvar dal (pigeon pea lentil) and raw mango called Pachi Mamidikaya Pappu. It translates to 'Raw Mango Dal' in the local lingo. This tangy and spicy dal goes best with hot steamed rice and a drizzle of some ghee. It is pure divine and a great comforting meal. Bethica Das -

Aam Dal (Raw Mango Lentil Curry - Bengali Style) Aam Dal (Raw Mango Lentil Curry - Bengali Style)
#cookingwithrawmango - One of my favourite dish, it is also called Tok Er Dal, meaning a tangy, sour red lentil prepared with green mango. A traditional and a simple Bengali dal, it is mostly prepared during summer. Few Kaffir lime leaves can be added while boiling the dal to enhance the flavour. You can call it a sort of comfort food. This is absolutely a very refreshing dal, had with rice and some aloo bhaja (deep fried potato strips) as a side dish. There is nothing like it. I do sometimes add some ghee to enhance the taste and flavour. Bethica Das -

Raw Mango Rice Raw Mango Rice
Have you ever tried Mango rice?? If not, then give your boring rice a makeover with this lovely recipe. I was scrolling through YouTube and there I came across this lovely recipe which includes unripe mangoes (kacha aam) to give a healthy twist to our regular rice. We, here in the North, do not relish rice this way, so it was pretty new flavour for my family. The raw mango gives tangy taste to the rice whereas assorted dals and peanuts give it a crunch, a tantalizing aroma and interesting mouth feel. You can savour it with side dishes like ginger chutney or curd. But I devoured this as it is, enjoying every bite and feeling every single flavour. Yummmm!#khana Vertika Tyagi -
