Instant Pot Filipino Bistek
Here's a fast way of making one of my favorite filipino dish.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Pound whole beef slices with a meat mallet or use the back of a large kitchen knife or cleaver. The pounding can help tenderize the meat even more. Marinate the beef slices with the calamansi juice (or lemon), soy sauce, garlic and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- 2
Press [SAUTE] on NORMAL level on the Instant Pot. Once HOT, pour in oil and add white onions. Saute until slightly soft.
- 3
Add marinated beef slices, marinade and beef broth to the pot. Press CANCEL.
- 4
Close the lid, seal the valve to SEALING, and press pressure function. Set pressure level to HIGH and adjust time to 13 mins.
- 5
When the cooking cycle is done, Quick Release pressure and open the lid. Transfer to a serving plate and enjoy!

Pinoy Bistek (beefsteak) Recipe Pinoy Bistek (beefsteak) Recipe
This is a very simple recipe of pinoy bistek as we call it in tagalog or beefsteak in English. This dish does not require much ingredients. If you are looking for a fast and easy recipe of beef then this is the right one for you. This is how I cooked it and I hope you also try this at home and I'm sure you will gonna love it. I love my bistek with lots of onion ring. BTW make sure you beef is thinly sliced so it is easy to be cooked and the more you marinate it in soy sauce with lemon juice the more it become more tastier ;). Serve it with rice and off to go! michelle -

Pork Chop Bistek Pork Chop Bistek
"Bistek" or "Bistec" is a Filipino/Spanish loan word derived from the English "beef steak" and is generally made with beef sirloin marinated in soy sauce and calamansi/lemon juice. This is one well known variation, which is still called "bistek" despite being made with pork chops. Normally the dish includes red onion rings as garnish but I have omitted them as usual. 🇵🇭🐖 蛟龍Stormwyrm -
