#colouryellow / post-1Dal tadka is a staple food and a very common item in most Indian restaurants though each has it's own version of making it and lentils vary. The most important part of this recipe is the tempering which makes a simple dal unique in it's flavour and aroma of mixed spices is simply irresistible and enjoyed with rice or any Indian flat bread. Arhar Moong Masoor Dal Tadka Arhar Moong Masoor Dal Tadka
Dal is made in every home every day. Sometimes with a special tadka (tempering), sometimes with a simple one. Usually, when we make tadka, we heat oil or ghee, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and other ingredients, but it doesn’t always have that restaurant-style flavor. Once, when I ordered dal from a restaurant, I noticed it didn’t have curry leaves. So, I tried making it without curry leaves. While it wasn’t exactly the same, it turned out very tasty. Since then, I often make it without curry leaves, though sometimes I do add them. Mrinalini SinhaTranslated from Cookpad India -
