‘Salsa’ technically means ‘sauce’ in Spanish, but the category as a whole refers to raw or cooked Mexican sauces, dips/condiments in general. It is interesting to know that salsa and tortilla chips is an ideal combination popular in Mexican-American restaurants, but not in Mexico. Today I have packed it in the lunch box with nachos.
