These are very easily done and are very crisp too. That's the reason why they can make for some good Snack at Tea-time or Shaam Ki Chai. Just sprinkle and relish them with your favourites. I have used Chat Masala because i love this amazing combination. And a perfectly delicious snacking idea for everyone on a rainy day. These hot Chips are yum with Hot Chocolate too. And there are umpteen variations that can be tried. Be it stir frying, deep frying or a curry, every variation has a charm of it's own.

These healthy Finger Chips are a perfect accompaniment on a rainy day. Crisp and crunchy to the last bite. With Cornflour added, it becomes even more of a delightful affair. I had used only Salt and Chat Masala along with a little of Pepper. There can be various other suggestions or ideas that could be put to use. Let your imagination do that for you. There can be umpteen ideas up your sleeves. So let's get rolling.

Ingredients

20-25 minutes
5 servings
  1. 1Banana Stem thinly cut lengthwise
  2. 1 tspChat Masala
  3. 1/2 tspBlack Pepper
  4. 3-4 tbspCornflour
  5. 1/2 tspSalt or as required
  6. Extra Salt to immerse as required

Cooking Instructions

20-25 minutes
  1. 1

First of all, it's important to remove the outer hard part of the banana stem. Remove one to two layers to find beneath a super soft and milky white stem that is tender and juicy.

  2. 2

Wash and cut into thin long sticks and keep these immersed in salted water to avoid the oxidation process. Otherwise they tend to become darker. Heat enough oil for frying. If it's coconut oil, it's better. Add cornflour to a bowl along with salt and pepper. Toss until coated well.

  3. 3

Fry in batches of 2 or 3 or as required. Keep a vigilant eye on them and keep turning every now and then for even frying from both the sides.

  4. 4

Drain and sprinkle some chat masala while still hot. Toss well and serve these crispy chips immediately to your loved ones and friends. Enjoy!
