Ingredients

40 - 50 minutes

  1. 1/2 cupChana Dal / Bengal Gram Dal
  2. 1/4 cupKabuli Chole
  3. 1 cupGobindobhog Rice
  4. 1 cupSoya Chunks
  5. 1Ginger (grated)
  6. 1 tspCumin seeds
  7. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  8. 2Bay leaf
  9. 3Cardamom
  10. 3-4Cloves
  11. 1Cinnamon stick
  12. 2 tbspMustard Oil
  13. 1 tspGhee
  14. Salt as required
  15. 1/2 tspGaram Masala powder
  16. Water as required
  17. 4-5green chilli
  18. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  19. 1/2-1 tspSugar

Cooking Instructions

40 - 50 minutes

    Assemble ingredients, soak Gobindo Bhog rice for 30 - 40 minutes.

    Soak Chana Dal + Kabuli Chole overnight.

  3. 3

    Boil soya chunks and squeeze water, marinade soya chunks with salt + red chilli powder + garam masala powder and marinade for around 20 minutes.

    In a deep pan out Dal + Rice to boil in sufficient water by adding salt + 1 tsp grated ginger + turmeric powder + green chilli. Let Dal and Rice cook properly. Add sugar in this stage.

    In moderately heated pan / kadhai add oil, add all whole spices and allow to crackle, then add remaining grated ginger and sauté for few seconds.

    Then add marinaded soya chunks and sauté for 3-4 minutes under low to medium heat.

    Now pour the tempering along with soya chunks to Dal and Rice Mixture.
    Stir well. Cook for 4-5 minutes.

    Add warm water as per desired consistency and check for salt.
    Lastly add ghee and stir well, keep in stand by mode for 3-4 minutes and dish is done.

    Serve hot hot with some fries.
    Have served with Brinjal Fry, Colourful Fryums and plain Curd.
