Ingredients

  1. 1 cupbrown basmati rice
  2. 1/4 cupsoya nuggets
  3. 1/2 cupchana daal (boiled or soaked fr 1 hour)
  4. 2 tbspghee
  5. 1bay leaf
  6. 1star anise
  7. 5 cloves (1 inch)cinnamon
  8. 1 tsppepper
  9. 2green chilli slit
  10. 1 tspjeera
  11. 1onion finely chopped
  12. 1 tspginger-garlic paste
  13. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  14. 1 tspsalt
  15. 3 cupswater

Cooking Instructions

    Brown rice takes little long time to cook so we have to Soak them for more than 1 hour

  2. 2

    Now in a pressure cooker heat 2 tbsp ghee and saute spices.
    Add chopped onion and saute well.

    Add green chilli and ginger-garlic paste. saute well.

  4. 4

    Now add soaked chana dal and soy nuggets saute for a minute.

    Add ½ tsp garam masala and 1 tsp salt. saute slightly more.

    Add brown basmati rice and sauté for a minute without breaking rice grains.

  6. 6

    Add three cups water and pressure cook for 10-15 minutes on medium flame.

  7. 7

    Serve soya and chana dal brown rice pulao.
