Warm Red Cabbage Salad Warm Red Cabbage Salad
A nice salad similar to German Potato salad. This salad is about different textures and intense flavor. If adding apples mix in a couple of different ones. Like a Granny Smith apple and one that is sweet. Raisins black and golden. Carrots of the rainbow variety. So many different ways this salad has been eaten over the years. Nuts added including shredded coconut, changes the tempo of the ways it's eaten. I have even put chopped bratwurst or smoked sausage in it instead of bacon. I have always associated, red cabbage with sweet and sour flavors. Even served it with potatoes in it.If you like a sharper tartness about it add apple cider vinegar, or distilled vinegar. The cane vinegar is about as sharp as my youngest granddaughters prefer. Usually I use apple cider vinegar. This one I made for them. They do love the crunchiness of the food they eat. skunkmonkey101 -

Arakas--Greek Potato and Pea Stew Arakas--Greek Potato and Pea Stew
This is a traditional Greek dish; fragrant peas & potato stew seasoned tempered with sauteed onions, tomato paste, herbs and spices. It's one of my favorite go to autumn & winter dishes! One of my shortcuts is to microwave the potatoes. I make this rustic style, using baby potatoes, and I leave on the skin. Drizzle with lemon juice and enjoy as a side dish or as a main course with feta cheese and bread. Christina T -

Country Potatoes Made With Boiled Potatoes Country Potatoes Made With Boiled Potatoes
I had some leftover boiled potatoes from when I made Raclette.Using boiled potatoes will decrease the cooking time.Wash the skins well. Once the water begins to boil, add plenty of salt and boil the potatoes.I used leftover boiled potatoes this time.If you like a crispier texture, use more oil. I used a mixture of herbs made for country potatoes, but if you don't have any, you can combine garlic powder, salt, pepper, and rosemary. Recipe by Brandy cookpad.japan -
Tomato fried potatoes Tomato fried potatoes
Another day, another silly sounding recipe name. This one's totally accurate though, because the dish really is fried potatoes with a hint of tomato. As simple as they are, they're also delicious, a breeze to prepare, and a nice alternative to plain ol' fried potatoes. Be sure to use baby potatoes only. That way they'll be soft and silky without falling apart. Robert Gonzal -

Onondaga Salt Potatoes, a.k.a as Syracuse Salt Potatoes Onondaga Salt Potatoes, a.k.a as Syracuse Salt Potatoes
Back in the 1870's Onondaga lake area, the county, produced 2.5 million bushels of fine salt annually. It provided 90% of the nations salt. It also produced the first salt potatoes. Irish and German immigrants flocked to this area for employment. A staple for food at the time was potatoes. So the salt workers would toss in potatoes into the salt kettles and cooked them. Taking them out they found out they were delicious.Afterwards the pubs caught on, so they served salt potatoes with their pints adding in butter. Thus the legendary salt potatoes of Lake Onondaga was born. This is the short version of a true story. The origin, place is approximately there since it would come up with Onondaga Lake, New York. skunkmonkey101
