Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl

Add in the butter and start to kneed adding the warm milk slowly until you get a stiff but spongy texture

Transfer your bread dough to your working area and continue to kneed for 6-7 minutes

After the dough is ready cover with a dump cloth and let it proof for an hour. Place it in a warm place

After an hour kneed your dough again for some minutes and prepare your baking tins by greasing with oil

Place your bread dough into the baking tin and make shallow lines on top

Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top and let the dough proof again for 15 minutes

Bake it for 25 minutes at 180° let it cool before serving

Irish Brown Bread (Whole Wheat Soda Bread)
My favorite soda bread recipe so far! Hearty bread in just 30 minutes. Whole wheat and bran makes it heartier and a lot more flavorful than white soda breads. It's so good with butter! I like to add in caraway, and sometimes other mix-ins like sunflower seeds and oats. If for some reason you can't get buttermilk, use a half milk/half yogurt mix instead. This recipe makes one small, manageable loaf.

I moved to the US from Germany and figured out the easiest way to get good bread is doing it on my own.You also can use just whole wheat flour or put in for example pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds or onions.This is just a simple and fast ground mix, vary it as you like.Once it is done let it rest for ten minutes then cut a few slices and add butter and a little bit salt ;-)You also can toast it the next day and do sandwiches.Don't put it in a plastic bag, just cover it so it doesn't dry out completely till you ate it all.My grandma used to do bread soup with the dry leftovers, for this best cut it in slices and let it dry...
