Cooking Instructions

Dissolve the yeast in some warm water

Mix the flour, sugar, salt and add in the yeast misture, followed by the milk and butter

Knead until the dough is elastic, for about 10 mins and set aside to rise for about an hr
- 4
Knead again after an hr, divide the dough into three balls, and rollthem out into long strands
- 5
Braid the strands, and set on a baking sheet to rise again for about half an hour
- 6
Bake in a 180 degree oven for 40 mins until golden brown. You can use eegg wash before baking for a shiny finish.

The bread came out so very soft and fluffy. The rounds were so good but the bottom of them turned hard on the second day, but the bread was perfect. I had my rounds on the bottom rack of the oven which is gas. I am thinking they may have gotten too hot. We have 2 racks in the oven. The granddaughters wouldn't stop eating the braided bread. skunkmonkey101
