Just wanted to try a different recipe from the usual doughnuts.
It's a type of bread originally from the Jewish community.
What makes it unique is that you need to boil the dough first (at least 1 min) before baking it.

Ingredients

25-30 minute
4 people
  1. 3 1/2 cupsall-purpose flour
  2. 2 tspyeast
  3. 2 TBSsugar
  4. 1 1/2 cupswarm water
  5. 2 tspsalt

Cooking Instructions

    Sieve the flour and set aside

    In another dish
    Mix one cup of flour, yeast & water and leave for,10 minutes to proof.

    Then add sugar, salt and the remaining cups of flour to the mixture and mix till it form dough

    Knead for at least 10 minutes then cover the dough for at least 2 hrs to rise

  5. 5

    After 2hrs, take the dough and divide into pieces to form round balls.
    Leave the balls for at least 10.minutes to proof.

    The form a hole at the middle of the round balls to make doughnuts like shapes

    The boil water in a saucepan then reduce heat and place your bagels in the water for 1 minute each side

  8. 8

    Brush them with egg wash and place them in a baking tray.
    Bake for 25- 30 minutes( 180 degrees.

    Can be garnished with sesame seeds,glazed with chocolate or cream, sprinkled with sugar
    Or served as an accompaniment to curry, stews

    Serve with hot drink or curry
