The finished their plates! The thick sauce lessens the fishy smell.
There's nothing much to it. You can easily make it! Recipe by Nichinichisou
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Season cod with salt and pepper (use unseasoned cod, so it doesn't get too salty). Let sit for 5 minutes.
- 2
Chop the vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Rinse the bean sprouts.
- 3
Blot the fish with a paper towel and dust with flour.
- 4
Heat oil in a frying pan, then add the fish. Fry, then remove from the pan.
- 5
In the same pan, add the ingredients for the ankake sauce and briefly stir-fry. The vegetables will be simmered later, so do not need to cook through at this point.
- 6
Add all of the seasoning ingredients expect for the katakuriko slurry, and bring to a boil. Then add the katakuriko slurry to thicken.
- 7
Return the fish to the pan, and simmer until the sauce reaches your desired thickness.

Cod with Vegetable Ankake Sauce Cod with Vegetable Ankake Sauce
I combined in-season cod with some vegetables I had in the refrigerator, to make a Japanese-style dish.If you prefer to have lots of sauce, double the sauce ingredients. The key is to not flip the cod over too often when it's cooking. Leave it alone so that it can brown on one side, then turn over and brown the other side. This way they won't fall apart, and will have a crispy finish. If you want the vegetables to be crispy, don't stir fry them or simmer them in the sauce for too long. Recipe by oldice cookpad.japan -
Easy to Make ・・Cod with Vegetable An-Sauce Easy to Make ・・Cod with Vegetable An-Sauce
I took some hints from a recipe for fried flounder with vinegar an-sauce to make a healthier fish recipe. You can make the vegetable an-sauce ahead of time, but it's better not to heat the green pepper until just before the cooking is done or the color won't be so green. You could this recipe with other kinds of fish, too. Recipe by Yuusukesuke cookpad.japan -
Pacific Cod and Vegetables with Sweet Vinegar Ankake Sauce Pacific Cod and Vegetables with Sweet Vinegar Ankake Sauce
I wanted to increase my repertoire for cod, since my daughter loves it, so I came up with this version with a veggie-packed sweet vinegar ankake sauce.Prepping the cod well eliminates the unpleasant fishy smell and helps keep it from breaking apart while cooking.Thinly slicing the green pepper horizontally will soften its texture. If you will prepare your katakuriko slurry with the method shown here, you'll be able to avoid lumps. Sautéed Cod and Tofu with Chinese-Style Ankake Sauce Sautéed Cod and Tofu with Chinese-Style Ankake Sauce
I made this dish with my grandfather at his house.Serve this light white fish dish with a tasty ankake sauce.Tofu goes well with this an so you can make a nice dish without using cod fillets.-I used only one frying pan but if you don't like this, use separate frying pans.-Sesame oil is for flavouring the dish. I mixed vegetable oil and sesame oil but you can use either of them.-Sprinkling sake over the cod gets rid of the strong fishy smell.-As an alternative to shaoxing wine I prefer shochu to sake. Crunchy Fried Noodles with Ankake Sauce Crunchy Fried Noodles with Ankake Sauce
My father and husband both love these noodles! I usually follow the recipe as written, but I adjust the flavor accordingly to whatever I add (ex. If onions are replaced with Japanese leeks, it'll lack natural sweetness so I add sugar, or add XO sauce, etc.)If you're going to use shrimp or squid, it's better to replace the oyster sauce for XO sauce. Depending on how many ingredients you add in, it may lack flavor, so add soy sauce (or salt) to adjust. Recipe by Sabumochi cookpad.japan -

Crispy Fried Yakisoba Noodles with Ankake Sauce Crispy Fried Yakisoba Noodles with Ankake Sauce
I love anakake-style dishes and oyster sauce. I wanted to season the sauce using oyster sauce.I always make this by just kinda eye-balling the measurement so it was quite difficult to create a proper recipe.-Before adding the sauce ingredients stir well first because the katakuriko tends to sink to the bottom.-You can use any leftover ingredients you have at home!-Use any meat such as mince, ham and bacon! If you serve this for your friends use a large dish to share! In that case cut the noodles beforehand. Recipe by ariatowa cookpad.japan -
Lotus Root Dumplings with Ankake Sauce Lotus Root Dumplings with Ankake Sauce
My mother taught me this recipe, but I used shiitake mushrooms instead of shrimp so that vegetarians could eat it too, and I also omitted the egg white in the original recipe. This is the sister recipe of "Lotus root dumplings (in clear soup)".The key is to put just a little bit of grated ginger (including the juice), but if you use too much, it will be too strong so watch out (you can use grated ginger from a tube). After you have grated most of the lotus root, chop up the last little bit left and add it too.I used the Step 7 dumplings in a clear soup in.
