We all know of spaghetti with bolongonese sauce, so i was brain storming, and i began to wonder how about we make the sauce more healthier with veggies? And what if we change the pasta to long grain rice. And boom we made this, trust me, if you try this you are never going back to plain old bolongonese sauce🤓

Ingredients

7 servings
  1. 1/2kilo minced meat (beef, lamb, chicken)
  2. 2 cupsdiced carrots
  3. 1 cuppeas
  4. 2 cupsdiced onions
  5. 1/2 spooncrushed garlic
  6. 1/2 spooncrushed ginger
  7. 1/2 cupfinely chopped green capsicum
  8. 3 spoonfinely chopped habanero peppers
  9. 1/2 cuptomato paste
  10. 3 piecesbay leaf
  11. 1 cupvegetable oil
  12. 1 spooncurry powder
  13. 1 table spoonchicken shawarma spice
  14. 1/2 table spoonturmeric
  15. 1 table spoonchili powder
  16. to tasteSalt and seasoning
  17. 1/2 cupwater
  18. For the rice
  19. 5 cupslong grain rice
  20. to tasteSalt
  21. Water

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Add the vegetable oil to pan, and heat

  2. 2

    Add the onions, and sauté

  3. 3

    Add the minced meat, and stir until its starting to cook through

  4. 4

    Add the crushed garlic, ginger

  5. 5

    Add the crushed peppers

  6. 6

    Add the carrots, and peas and fry together

  7. 7

    Once the carrot is softened add the tomato puree

  8. 8

    Add all the spices mentioned above, and continue to cook

  9. 9

    Add water to your desired consistency and close the pot allowing it to simmer for 4 minutes

  10. 10

    Add the green capsicum and turn off the heat.

  11. 11

    Wash and soak the rice for at least an hour

  12. 12

    Cook in 3 cups of salted water and serve with the sauce
