Fateera- is similar to the east-African chapati. Can be eaten with soup, as a side dish or better still used for chicken/beef wraps, also a good substitute for flat bread or in my case fried with various fillings( minced beef/chicken, sausage, veggies, cheese and the likes)

Ingredients

  1. Fateera
  2. 2 cupsall-purpose flour
  3. 4 tspcooking oil
  4. Water as required
  5. Salt(optional)
  6. Hotdog sauce
  7. 2big sausage
  8. Steamed carrot
  9. 1medium onion
  10. Red pepper
  11. clovesGarlic
  12. Ginger
  13. Curry
  14. Cooking oil
  15. Seasoning
  16. Extra
  17. Cooking oil for frying
  18. Flour+water for folding

Cooking Instructions

    In a clean, dry bowl add in flour

    Oil

  3. 3

    Water

  4. 4

    And mix well, take out from the bowl

  5. 5

    Knead for 3-5mins

  6. 6

    And a soft dough is formed, cover and let it rest for 15-20mins

    Meanwhile, prepare sauce

    In a dry pan, pour in little oil

  9. 9

    Then chopped onion

  10. 10

    Grated pepper and garlic

  11. 11

    Sliced sausage

  12. 12

    Steamed carrot

    Seasoning and spices, mix well, cover and allow to steam for 3-5mins

    Done

    Divide dough

    Take one at a time and roll it out

    Oil your palm and rub it to your flattened dough front and back

    Heat up pan on medium flame, put in dough and heat for a minute

    Flip it the other way round for another one minute, remove and cover with a kitchen towel or in a nylon bag

    Repeat the same for the rest and here fateera’s ready

    Divide fateera into 2, cut the first half, into a round or circular shape, then again divide circles into halves

    Now the other half, make a circle with a cutter, as shown here👇

    Ready to use

    Take 2 circular sheets, add in sauce to one

  25. 25

    Now use your flour mixture, to line the edges with it

  26. 26

    Close with the other sheet, and repeat the same for the remaining

  27. 27

    Do the same for this one as well but fold on top of it

  28. 28

    You then fry on a very low heat and they are ready to digest
