Easy "Roast" Beef Made in a Frying Pan

I wrote this recipe to reduce the amount of preparation and cleaning that is usually necessary when cooking. It's easy, delicious, and visually appealing.

If you don't have a lid for your frying pan, cover with aluminum foil.

If you prefer a sweeter flavour, add sugar to the seasonings.

Ingredients

  1. 500 gramsA block of beef
  2. 2 cloveGarlic
  3. 2thumbs Ginger
  4. 200 mlWater
  5. 100 mlSoy sauce
  6. 50 mlMirin
  7. 50 mlRed wine (or sake)
  8. 1Salt and pepper

Cooking Instructions

    Season the meat with salt and pepper. Slice the ginger and garlic.

    Lightly coat a pan with oil. Brown the meat over high heat.

  3. 3

    Add the sliced garlic and ginger. Cook until aromatic. Add the remaining seasonings (soy sauce, mirin, sake).

    When the liquid begins to simmer, turn off the heat and cover the pan with a lid. Let it rest for 1 hour under residual heat (if using a shallow pan, turn the meat around occasionally.

    Slice the finished roast beef. If you thicken the remaining juice, it'll makes a nice sauce.
