How to Boil Pasta In A Pressure Cooker

This is how my favorite pasta store boils their pasta.
The pressure cooker you have is most likely different from mine, so be careful to adjust the cooking times accordingly. You may fail or mess up the first time, but this recipe is totally worth it! We make rice in our house with a pressure cooker as well! We don't have a rice cooker...(it takes about 5 minutes to make at low pressure.) This will still make the pasta have a springy, chewy texture. Recipe by Noraa

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Bring water to boil in a pressure cooker and then add 1% of the water in weight of salt.
- 2
Add the pasta! Once the pasta has been submerged in the boiling water, close the lid and set it to a high pressure setting (over high heat).
- 3
When the pin rises or the pot starts to let out steam, turn the heat down to low and cook under pressure for 2 minutes. When your timer goes off, run cold water over the lid to bring the pressure down rapidly. Open the lid and drain the pasta.
- 4
For capellini (angel hair pasta, normally takes about 4 minutes to cook) just cook it for under pressure for 20 seconds!
- 5
For fettuccine (normally takes about 6 minutes) just cook under pressure for 1 minute 30 seconds.

How To Boil Pasta In a Pan How To Boil Pasta In a Pan
I saw a method for making pan-pasta in a magazine. I adapted it when I got the inspiration to turn the heat off and cover the pan with a lid, to save on energy costs! I also save on water usage since I always used to run cold water in the sink to prevent it from getting damaged after draining the pasta water into it.if you're cooking Japanese style pasta, try adding dashi stock to the cooking water. If you're making tomato pasta reduce the amount of water and add canned tomatoes instead to flavor the pasta. (See one of the referred to recipes.) If you want to add garlic or cook vegetables, stir fry them before step 1, or just simmer them with the pasta. For 1 serving. Recipe by Nekozame cookpad.japan -

No Boil Baked Pasta No Boil Baked Pasta
Something easy, although pretty basic tomato pasta dish. I used fettuccine this time, I found they stick together worse than spaghetti or elbow macaroni, which is what I usually use. But I had half a jar of sauce, half a box of pasta, cheese and that is dang near all you need to make this.Just a note, you can just double this, and use a 9 X 13 baking pan instead, and have plenty. Same oven temp and times. So if a basic pasta dish that's easy is what you need, give this one a try. Fo Fa -

QOTW: How do you boil pasta? (And other pasta tips & tricks!) QOTW: How do you boil pasta? (And other pasta tips & tricks!)
Happy Wednesday, all! It's time for our QOTW (Question of the Week) where we'll be talking about ingredients, methods, and sometimes just plain fun food stuff.I've been eating a lot of pasta lately, which made me wonder about our different methods of cooking pasta. I used to do the traditional full stock pot of water and a big punch of salt brought to a boil first until I learned about starting your pasta in cold, shallow water (about 2" above the pasta line).Since then, I've never looked back. It takes less time, less water, and less salt, and you still get a great al dente result if you pull the pasta on time. I know it's heresy to lots of people, but I swear it works! :D*Note: A comment below reminds me this applies to dry and not fresh pasta. So this week's question: HOW DO YOU BOIL PASTA? (And any other pasta cooking tricks you'd like to share.)Looking forward to your answers!~ YFNCM :) x -

My twist on Instant Pot crack chicken. Cajuns like it spicy. Most recipes call for one packet, I used 2, so this dish packs a flavor punch. Feel free to omit parsley, or use dried. Experiment with different ranch flavors. IP 8qt Ultra :Update - I found 2 packs spicy was a bit much so recipe changed to 1 pack spicy, 1 pack regular ranch. Came out perfect. Bayou Cajun Mama -
