I was cleaning out my fridge the day before I moved houses, and used up all the leftovers by making toast. The result was amazingly good.

Ingredients

  1. 1 sliceSliced bread
  2. 3cm Carrot
  3. 4leaves Shiso leaves
  4. 1enough to spread on the bread Mayonnaise
  5. 1 sliceplus Cheese

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Julienne the shiso leaves and carrot.

  2. 2

    Spread mayonnaise on the bread.

  3. 3

    Top with the carrot and shiso leaves.

  4. 4

    Cover the carrot and shiso with cheese, and toast. The carrot will steam-bake if it's fully covered with cheese.

  5. 5

    The result is delicious toast with gooey shiso cheese, sweet carrot and the subtle flavour of mayonnaise.
