Pear Compote Made with White Wine

I make this compote every year, and I alternate between making it with white and red wine.
Make sure it simmers gently and do not let it come to a full boil.
This compote is delicious in tarts or baked snacks (it keeps for 1 week)
If you use whole pears, simmer them for about 1.5 hours Recipe by Cookie shiasu
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Peel the pears and cut in half lengthwise. Remove the core by scooping it out with a teaspoon.
- 2
Put the white wine, granulated sugar, and water into a pot and bring to a boil to melt the sugar and boil off the alcohol. Then add the pears, making sure they are covered by the liquid.
- 3
Now add the lemon juice and vanilla bean and cover with parchment paper. Simmer over low heat for 40 minutes - 1 hour, ladling the liquid over the top from time to time.
- 4
After it cools off, leave the pears in the liquid and put them into the refrigerator to chill. The compote is delicious paired with vanilla ice cream or fresh cream.
- 5
I used Bartlett pears.
- 6
Lemon slices can sometimes create a bitter flavor, so I made a change to the recipe to use lemon juice instead.

Easy Pear Compote Easy Pear Compote
I've loved pears since I was a child. They are delicious fresh, but I wanted to use them when cooking both sweet and savory dishes, so I made a compote.Since the pears will be simmered, choose pears that are on the firm side. You can serve the compote with ice cream, chop it up and put it in yogurt, or use it for hors d'oeuvres, tarts and other sweets. Recipe by Usagi no Cima. cookpad.japan -
Apple Compote with Red Wine Apple Compote with Red Wine
I wanted to use apples to make a healthy snack. I only used the minimum amount of sugar to reduce sweetness and added a hint of spices to suit my own taste.Simmered apples are delicate, so treat them with care when you're taking them out. You can make them nicely with leftover wine.*Jonathan apples cook quite fast. Please adjust the cooking time to your desired toughness of the apples. I personally simmer mine for a long time, since I really dislike the crunchy texture of the apples. For a manageable amount. Recipe by Setsubunhijiki cookpad.japan -
Peach Compote Peach Compote
I used some bruised peaches to make compote. You can eat it plain, but I also recommend using it to make tarts or jelly. Here are the peach compote pieces with yogurt in a different dessert recipe.-In Step 2, if your peaches are soft, be careful not to simmer them for too long.-If you're making a lot at once, you can boil the peaches whole. If boiling whole, extend the boiling time a little. If you want to store the compote for a longer time, increase the amount of sugar and store in a sterilized jar. The amount of sugar in this recipe is reduced, so enjoy as soon as possible. Recipe by Yuuyuu0221 cookpad.japan -
Pear Compote in Jelly With Panna Cotta Pear Compote in Jelly With Panna Cotta
I wanted to enjoy eating some pears that were a bit lacking just as-is.I think you can use 200g of the syrup from the pear compote.Even pears that are not so sweet will become amazingly delicious when poached like this. The pear compote becomes really delicious when it's chilled in the syrup (the syrup becomes tastier too), so to make the jelly, use well chilled syrup that has been re-heated. Apple Compote (Simmered in Red Wine) Apple Compote (Simmered in Red Wine)
This is my mother's recipe.Every winter I'm sent a lot of apples from my home town. I make this when the apples start to turn soft, or when I'm tired of eating them as-is.This just needs to be simmered, so it's very easy. You can use white wine instead of red. If you use red wine, the flavor is deep and grownup, and if you use white wine, it's clean-cut and elegant. Recipe by La Land cookpad.japan -

Cherry Compote Cherry Compote
I always make this compote when American cherries are in season. The alcohol will evaporate off, so this is delicious even for those who don't drink alcohol. For children, you can replace the white wine with water. Add the Kirsch before turning off the heat to evaporate the alcohol. By the way, you can also make this with Japanese cherries. Peach Compote Peach Compote
I bought lots of peaches, so I wanted to use them while they were still fresh. If the peaches are ripe, you should be able to slightly reduce the simmering time; feel free to make adjustments as you like.If the skin has a deep colour, simmering the peaches with their skins gives the compote a beautiful pink colour (when using white wine).I recommend serving these the following day. I make these every year when I manage to get some small figs. These fruits are also easy to use for jam. They're delicious. If you don't like the skins on the figs, you can peel them off. This tastes great even if you don't have red wine.Boil the larger figs for a little bit longer. It's probably better to add a little more sugar if you will be storing these for 1 month.
