An Elegant Trick to Remove the Cellophane from the Natto

I thought everyone removed the cellophane this way, but that doesn't seem to the case. I realized my way was unique.
Of course, you can prepare your natto as you like, but since I like it with sesame oil and salt, I've been eating it this way for some time.
Just pull a small edge of the cellophane out of the container, close the lid and pull it out! Recipe by Karian
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Open the lid of the natto as usual, and remove the accompanying sauce and Japanese mustard packets.
- 2
Slip a small section of the cellophane out of the container, close the lid, then pull out the cellophane while pressing down on the lid.
- 3
Once it is pulled out, fold it up with the sticky side inside.
- 4
Remove the lid of the natto along the perforations, then place the cellophane on top. Then, mix in the packets of sauce and Japanese mustard as usual. Then, naturally, place the empty packets on top of the lid.
- 5
Season the natto to your liking. When I get sick of the sauce and Japanese mustard, I mix in sesame oil and salt. Give it a try!
