Simple Lost beans

Lost beans. Family member lost the written recipe. I tried to give replacement, but was unknowingly leaving out the spices. The person lost the recipe again. It wasn't until 2021 that I learned I had been lost also.

Ingredients

2 or 3 servings
  1. 2 cansyour favorite beans for bbq season. The kind with no sauce. We sometimes use black and red beans
  2. About a cup of favorite salsa. We use a salsa with chipotle peppers added,but it still has the fresh tomato base. U can change the taste by using darker smokier salsa
  3. Smoked paprika is the predominant spice. At least 1 TBSP, but not 2.
  4. 1good sprinkle of garlic powder, or 1 small clove minced
  5. Coarse ground, or fresh ground black pepper to taste
  6. 1/4 tspcumin or to change taste increase or decrease
  7. Dashchipotle Tabasco
  8. 1 TBSPdijon or other non yellow mustard

Cooking Instructions

    Rinse and drain the cans of beans. Place into 3 qt sauce pan.

    Turn on the heat to medium, add spices. Put lid on. Cook for 3 minutes until bubbling, stir and cook again until bubbling. Turn off. Enjoy.

Curious, quirky microbiologist who loves cooking for and with people I love. I think if I lived alone eating would be another chore of the day. Cooking would be harder .
