Found this recipe in the newspaper over a decade ago. I have changed it from the original over the years but the 2 ingredients that are a MUST is the Pepperidge Farm stuffing and the chicken stock! Everyone loves this filling!

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 bagsbread cubes
  2. 1 (14 oz)bag of pepperidge farm stuffing (blue bag)
  3. 1 cupdiced onion
  4. 1 cupdiced celery
  5. 1 cupdiced carrorts
  6. 3-4 cupschicken stock
  7. 1 cupbutter
  8. 2 tablespoonsparsley
  9. 1 tablespoongarlic powder
  10. 1 tablespoonoregano
  11. 2eggs
  12. 1 tablespoonpoultry seasoning

Cooking Instructions

    In a large bowl mix bread cubes and pepperidge farm stuffing mix.

    In a large skillet melt butter. Add onion, celery and carrots.

  3. 3

    Saute until vegetables are soft and translucent. Add approximately 2 cups of chicken stock and bring to a simmer.

    Remove from heat. Pour vegetables over bread mixture. Mix well.

  5. 5

    Beat 2 eggs and pour over mixture along with remaining dry ingredients.

  6. 6

    Add additional stock a little at a time until it reaches your desired moistness.

  7. 7

    Cover and bake at 350F for 45 minutes. (Can also be used in bird)
