This is a fusion recipe with flavours of South Indian cuisine of dosa enriched with goodness and taste of egg. This is one of my favourite recipe which my mother made for us on weekends. A simple potato curry with spices and curry leaves cooked in South Indian style is the stuffing used or can also be eaten as a side dish. The Gola ruti is a modified version of dosa with egg, rice flour, suji and curd.

  11. 1/2 tspurad daal
  12. 1/4 tsp hing
  13. 1dry red chilli
  14. 1 sprigcurry leaves
  15. 1/2 tspsalt
  16. 1/2 tspsambhar masala powder
  17. 1green chilli
  18. 2 tbspmustard oil
  19. 1/2 tspturmeric powder

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes
  1. 1

To a kadai add mustard oil and hing, mustard seeds, chana daal, urad daal, curry leaves, dry chilli and fry. Add diced potatoes, salt, turmeric powder and mix well

  2. 2

Now add water and slow cook till potatoes become soft

  3. 3

Add green chilli and sambhar powder and cook till the water evaporates and the mixture becomes mushy. I usually stuff like my mother does and so keep it dry yet have a curry consistency.

  4. 4

Now in a bowl take all the ingredients except eggs and mix well. Add eggs and slight water to have a smooth batter not too thick or too thin and cover and rest for 10 minutes

  5. 5

In a flat pan grease with oil and pour the batter gently. Sprinkle few oil drops on top and once the bottom gets released from pan just gently flip over. Make it a bit crispy as it tastes really good.

  6. 6

Now place on a plate and put 2 tbsp of masala Aloo curry and roll over. Serve hot with tomato sauce and some aloo curry as well and curd. Enjoy your breakfast
