Butter & Soy Sauce Chicken Sauté

The is a simple, yet fashionable french-style meat dish: the ever-popular chicken sauté. I take this to my husband's families' house every Christmas. I always decorated with red or green bell peppers.
The butter and soy sauce flavor is so good and this dish is incredibly easy to make.

Start cooking the chicken on the skin-side. If there's not enough oil, it will burn quite easily. When you flip the chicken over, wipe away an excess oil.
When making the sauce, if you add a little garlic or miso to the onion, the flavour will be a bit different, but still delicious. Recipe by Nanohana uchan

Ingredients

3 servings
  1. Chicken sauté
  2. 2Chicken thighs
  3. 1Salt & Pepper, black pepper
  4. 1Katakuriko
  5. For the sauce:
  6. 1/2Sliced onions
  7. 30 gramsButter
  8. 3 tbspSoy sauce
  9. 3 tbspMirin

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

These are the basic ingredients! Slice the onion thinly. Season the chicken thighs with plenty of salt, pepper and black pepper.

  2. 2

Coat the meat with katakuriko. Spread the meat out skin down in a pan with a generous amount of oil and cook. Cover the pan with a lid and cook the meat thoroughly until golden.

  3. 3

Quite a bit of oil should leak out from the skin, so pat it away with a paper towel, flip the chicken over and cook the other side until that is also golden.

  4. 4

Whilst the chicken is cooking, prepare the sauce. Fry the onions in the butter until wilted, add the soy sauce and mirin and bring to the boil to finish.

  5. 5

Once the chicken is cooked, cut it into 3-5 equal pieces, arrange face-up on a plate and cover with the sauce. It'll look even better with some colorful vegetables on the side.

  6. 6

This dish tastes great the day after as well, so I recommend it for breakfast or for your lunchbox.

  7. 7

The sauce in this photo has been made with miso, bell peppers, and enoki mushrooms. ☆ It gives the sauce a nice volume and the enoki flavour and miso butter taste delicious.

  8. 8

I tried making it by cutting up the chicken into karaage size pieces before cooking this time. I added the sauce to the plate first, followed by the chicken and then garnished with green shiso. ☆ It smelled amazing!

  9. 9

This is a different version of this recipe made with miso "Miso Butter Chicken Sauté ☆".. Please give it a try ♪
