This flavorful ginger pork prepared without macerating is our family favorite.

Using the same amounts of soy sauce, sake, and mirin make this recipe easier to remember. This recipe is also delicious with chicken or squid.
Macerating the meat for about 5 minutes in the sauce before browning will result in tender and delicious meat. Recipe by Naomoka

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 500 gramsThinly sliced pork
  2. 1/4 eachOnion and apple (optional)
  3. 50 mleach Soy sauce, cooking sake, and mirin
  4. 2 largepieces Ginger
  5. 1White flour
  6. 1Shredded cabbage

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Grate the onion, apple, and ginger. Mix in with soy sauce, sake, and mirin.

  2. 2

Lightly coat the meat with flour on both sides. This helps the sauce evenly coat the meat! Macerate the meat in the sauce if you want to skip this step.

  3. 3

Heat oil in a pan and brown the meat on both sides. Transfer to a plate. If you macerated the meat, brown the meat, but set the sauce aside.

  4. 4

After wiping the excess fat from the pan, return the meat to the pan. Add the sauce, simmer, then serve.

  5. 5

If the meat was macerated, add the sauce after browning the meat. Simmer, then once the sauce is well mixed in, it is done.

  6. 6

Serve the meat over shredded cabbage.
