I've made this many times and tinkered with the amount of sugar. This version is the best!

Ingredients

1 serving
  1. 1Egg
  2. 1 1/2 tbspSugar
  3. 150 mlMilk
  4. 1 tbspSugar
  5. 1/2 tspWater

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Add the sugar and water to a heat-resistant container of a volume more than 200 ml. Mix everything together, and microwave until it becomes caramel-colored (about 2 minutes)!

  2. 2

Add the sugar and egg (remove the chalaza) to a measuring cup, and beat as if your life depended on it! If you do this, you won't need to strain it.

  3. 3

Add the milk to the measuring cup (adding to the 200 ml mark means you've added about 150 ml). Then add to the heat-resistant container.

  4. 4

Cover with aluminum foil, and then add to a shallow amount of boiling water (about 3-4 cm?). Cook on low heat for 20 minutes! Watch it carefully. Then all you have to do is cool it to finish!
