Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine 1 cup of flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt and any additional flavoring (garlic powder).
- 2
Add olive oil and water to the bowl & use a spoon to stir well
- 3
Gradually add another cup of flour and any additional flour if needed. Stir until dough is one cohesive ball.
- 4
Coat a separate bowl generously with olive oil.
- 5
Using your flour coated hands form the dough into a ball and transfer the dough into your olive oil coated bowl. Wrap the bowl tightly with plastic wrap & place in a warm area. (Top of the stove)
- 6
Allow dough to rise for at least 30 minutes or until it’s doubled in size.
- 7
Deflate the dough using your hands and knead the dough on a lightly floured surface.
- 8
Work the dough into a 12” circle using your hands or a rolling pin and transfer the dough on to a pizza pan.
- 9
Poke holes throughout the crust to eliminate the chance of any air bubbles forming while in the oven.
- 10
Add your favorite toppings & bake for 13 minutes or until your liking.

Our family prefers homemade when it comes to pizzas. We bake two pizzas and add two to four types of toppings. The picture above shows a pizza made with homemade teriyaki chicken and sauce, and one with homemade sauce topped with wiener sausages and salami. You can also leave the dough out to rise while creating the toppings. The baking time will differ depending on the toppings, so adjust accordingly. Pizza Dough Pizza Dough
This pizza dough is not prepared or cooked in a traditional way, but it is the best homemade dough recipe that I've been able to come up with. It's also a nice cross between two competing pizza philosophies, namely Chicago-style deep dish and New York-style thin crust. It's versatile in the sense it is great for any topping choice, and although it won't be your favorite pizza crust of all time, it will hopefully be the favorite one you've ever made at home. source: https://sugarspunrun.com/wprm_print/13562Notes¹I've found that all-purpose flour yields a softer crust while bread flour gives a slightly crispier exterior. Please see the post for more information on all-purpose vs. bread flour in pizza dough.²Many commenters have reported using active dry yeast (use the same amount, 2 ¼ teaspoon) with success. Some people have proofed the yeast first with the ¾ cup warm water, which is what I would recommend, while others have just mixed it into the dough as instructed. Both have had success!³Ideally your water should be between 105-115F (40-46C). I usually just use warm tap water but do make sure that your water isn't too hot or it will kill your yeast! Pizza Dough Pizza Dough
This is the result of massive amounts of research and time and taste testing. A pizza dough that can handle high heat (600°+) that a Kamado-Style grill can produce. This dough is relatively quick, tasty and looks good as well.Notes: prepare pizza and immediately place in grill for less puffy crust. Also, turn pizza with peel a quarter turn every few minutes to cook evenly. This crust will bubble and "leopard" on high heat. Kamado John Wayne -
