Drop Dumplings

This recipe came from a family member in the “70’s”. My family loves these as a side dish to a meal. I also use these for chicken and dumplings. Leave out the butter and chip them directly into your chicken mixture. The picture is from my chicken and dumplings

Ingredients

  1. 4eggs
  2. 2 tablespoonswater
  3. 2 cupall purpose flour
  4. 2 canschicken broth
  5. 1 stickbutter
  6. Salt and pepper

Cooking Instructions

    Mix eggs and water. Stir into flour. Mixture will be sticky.

    In a saucepan bring chicken broth to a boil. Dip teaspoon into boiling liquid, then get a small amount of dough onto spoon about 1/2 of your teaspoon and drop dough into boiling broth. Repeat until surface of liquid is covered. Cook about 3 min. Spoon into warm bowl add a pat of butter, salt and pepper.

    Repeat process until all mixture is used up. I use the entire stick of butter.

👍 I have never heard the term chipped dumplings. They look similar in texture to old fashioned rolled out dumplings.
