Ingredients

Prep 20 min, Cook 15 min

  1. 1 lb (454 g)Pork loin -Excess fat removed
  2. 2Medium Bell peppers -Any colour
  3. 1Medium Onion
  4. 1 cup (140 g)Frozen Pineapple Chunks
  5. 2 tbsp (30 ml)White wine
  6. 1 tsp (5 ml)Worcestershire sauce
  7. 1/2 tspGarlic powder or Granulated garlic
  8. 1/2 tspGinger powder
  9. 1/4 tspGround black pepper
  10. 2 tbspPotato/Corn starch
  11. 2 tbsp (30 ml)Vegetable oil
  12. 2 tspSesame seeds (1/2 tsp per serving)
  13. For condiment (Sweet & Sour Stir-fry Sauce -Recipe # 16703185)
  14. 4 tbsp (60 ml)Less salt added Ketchup
  15. 3 tbsp (45 ml)White vinegar
  16. 2 tbsp (30 ml)Unsweetened apple sauce
  17. 2 tsp (10 ml)Less salt soy sauce
  18. 1 tsp (5 ml)Sesame oil
  19. This recipe is intended to be compatible with the diet of individuals with diabetes, kidney and heart disease, but please consult your doctor, renal nurse, nutritionist or other medical professionals!

Cooking Instructions

Prep 20 min, Cook 15 min

    Mix all ingredients for sauce in a bowl. Set-aside.

    Slice Onion and cut Bell pepper into strips.

  3. 3

    Measure Pineapple chunks and cut them if the pieces are too large for your taste.

  4. 4

    Chop Pork loin into bite-sized pieces. Transfer them to a mixing bowl.

  5. 5

    Rub White wine, Worcestershire sauce, Garlic powder, Ginger powder and Black pepper into the pork; then add Potato starch and combine thoroughly. Set-aside.

    Heat a wok or a deep fry pan to Med-High temperature and add Vegetable oil.

  7. 7

    Fry pork from step 5 until surface turns white; remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. Set-aside.

    In the same wok, stir-fry Onion and Bell pepper at Med-high temperature until onion becomes slightly transparent.

    Add cooked pork from step 7 and Pineapple; toss them. Add sauce from step 1 and cover thoroughly.

    Transfer to a dinner bowl; Sprinkle Sesame seeds on top.

    Option: Serve with rice or Asian noodles, and sprinkle 1/2 tsp Less salt soy sauce or a pinch salt on top of this dish depending on your daily nutritional needs.
