Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupbutter at room temperature (113g)
  2. 1/2 cupsugar (150g)
  3. 1large egg
  4. 1/2 tablespoonalmond or vanilla extract
  5. 1 1/2 cupsall-purpose flour (250g)
  6. 1/2 teaspoonbaking soda
  7. 1/4 teaspoonsalt
  8. sliced almonds to taste

    Beat an egg, remove 2 tablespoons and place them in another container with a tablespoon of water and set aside. (You should have 2 mixtures: one of just egg and one of egg with water.)
