Ingredients

  1. 1 cupTamarind
  2. 500 mlwater
  3. 2Lemon
  4. 2tspn Cloves
  5. 3Fresh Ginger
  6. 1 tspFlavor (optional)
  7. 1/4 CupSugar or any sweetener of choice
  8. 1/2 StickCinnamon

Cooking Instructions

    Rinse tamarind lightly once to remove dirt

  2. 2

    Rinse your ginger properly and pound it in a mortar

  3. 3

    Place in a clean pot: rinsed tamarind, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and water

  4. 4

    Bring to boil

  5. 5

    Bring pot down from cooker, let it stand till it's cool

  6. 6

    Using a mesh sieve cloth; drain out all the fluid into a clean bowl

  7. 7

    Put the sieved tamarind with other ingredients into a separate clean bowl, then use hands to further break up (mash) the tamarind mix. Turn all that's drained into the other bowl (mentioned above)

    Squeeze lemon, sieve and add the lemon juice to the tamarind mixture (above) then add sugar. Best Served CHILLED. Enjoy! 😊
