Since it's a waste to toss them out...

You can get a side serving from the stalks of one head of broccoli. If it's not enough, chop the rest of the broccoli into small pieces, boil until tender, then add it to the stalks. Recipe by Choko017

Ingredients

  1. 1head's worth Broccoli stalks
  2. 1 tspButter
  3. 1/2 tspSoy sauce
  4. 1 dashGarlic
  5. 1 dashSalt and pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Shave off the surface of the broccoli stalks with a knife (as if peeling it off), and cut into 5 cm long strips. Mince the garlic.

  2. 2

Put the butter and the garlic in a frying pan, sauté until fragrant, then add in the broccoli stalks and continue to sauté.

  3. 3

Once the stalks become tender, add the soy sauce, and season with salt and pepper to taste. It's done!

  4. 4

I recommend liberally seasoning the stalks to tone down their bitterness. Adjust the flavor to taste with garlic and soy sauce.
