Cooking Instructions
- 1
Combine the yeast, honey and warm water in a large mixing bowl. Allow yeast to proof for 5-10 minutes.
- 2
Add two cups of the flour, reserving 1 cup. Add olive oil and salt.
- 3
Using dough hook attachment, mix on low speed until a shaggy dough is formed.
- 4
Increase mixer speed to medium and gradually add enough of the remaining flour one tablespoon at a time until a dough ball is formed that cleans the sides of the bowl. You may or may not use all the flower. Should take at least 5 minutes.
- 5
Shape dough into a ball and place in an oiled bowl; turn the ball over in the bowl to coat the other side. Cover bowl with plastic wrap.
- 6
Place dough in slightly warm oven for one hour to rise.
- 7
Remove from oven. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and punch it down. Mold the dough into an oval/torpedo shape and place on lightly oiled pan.
- 8
Preheat oven to 400F. Cover dough with plastic wrap, and allow to rise for 30 minutes.
- 9
Remove plastic and use a knife to put three slits in top of dough. Place risen dough in oven for 25-30 minutes.
- 10
When removed from oven, paint top of hot loaf with melted butter.
- 11
Serve warm or allow to cool.

I really like these bread bowls. They are great made with 1/2 whole wheat flour! I've made them with and without the spices and they are good both ways. If you add the spices in the quantity given, you can definitely taste them. Enjoy! Chris Larsen -
Italian Bread-Style Okara Bread Italian Bread-Style Okara Bread
By chance I baked bread using some okara I had in the freezer. This bread had the same moist, tender and fluffy texture and lightly salty taste of bread I had in a New York Italian restaurant. On January 13th, 2009 I revised this recipe to include butter. The first time I baked this bread I used leftover okara I had in my freezer, however now I buy okara and freeze it in 50 g amounts to use for this bread. For one loaf. I learned this from my friend in Australia.I altered the amounts of salt and flour for Japanese tastes, and changed the ingredients into manageable amounts. You can make this really delicious Italian bread without kneading the dough. You can make this bread even if you don't have a bread machine. In Step 3, if the dough hasn't risen well enough, let it rest in the fridge for another 1 hour.If you have some time, leave the dough in the fridge for more than 6 hours. By doing so, the dough would be risen really well and delicious.Put the bowl with the dough in the fridge before you go to bed, and enjoy freshly baked bread next morning.
