I know that most people do not think that Hamburger Helper is cooking, but being a busy cook it is important to get something hot on the table that taste homemade. I worked full time, my mom was ill, and I have lupus. So I use a meat mix (my own recipe) and a box!!! :evilgrin :-) :-) :hungry

make meat mix, the recipe for meat mix is on my profile (bell pepper, garlic & onion)

drain ground beef. add milk, noodles, and seasoning package.

cook according to instructions on box.

when noodles are tender add the sour cream and stir into mixture. turn off fire and stir until the sour cream is mixed in well.

Stroganoff was always my favorite flavor of Hamburger Helper when I was younger, so I'm surprised that it wasn't the first flavor that I tried to recreate. For a more traditional copycat of Hamburger Helper, you could leave out the mushrooms, but we love the addition of them.
