Ingredients

15 mins
1 serving
  1. 2 piecebread (raisin bread is best)
  2. 1peanut butter
  3. 1jelly or jam
  4. 1corn flakes
  5. 1egg
  6. 1vanilla extract
  7. 1milk or cream
  8. 1vegetable oil (enough to immerse the sandwich)
  9. 1iced cream (optional)
  10. 1maple syrup (optional)

Cooking Instructions

15 mins
  1. 1

Put vegetable oil in a deep pan on medium-high heat or heat deep fryer to 375°F.

  2. 2

Using bread, peanut butter, and jelly, make a PB&J sandwich. Careful not to let it leak out the sides.

  3. 3

Mix the egg, a small amount of milk or cream and a few drops of vanilla extract, and beat them together and place in shallow bowl.

  4. 4

Crumble the cornflakes to crumbs and place in shallow bowl.

  5. 5

Dip the sandwich into the egg-wash and allow it to absorb into both sides.

  6. 6

Dip the soaked sandwich into the cornflakes crumbs, and then immerse in the vegetable oil @ 375°F until golden brown, approx. 3 min a side.

  7. 7

Serve with iced cream and maple syrup.
