Battered N Deep Fried Potato Wedges
i love this batter! these were so good. jason said it reminds him of long john silvers batter.. but idk.. cuz ive never had it. we dunked in bbq sauce.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Wisk all dry ingredients together in a bowl.
- 2
Add all weet ingredients and wisk until there are no lumps.
- 3
(If batter is to thin for you add a bit more flour little at a time. If to thick add a bit more water a little at a time.) ( you may have to adjust this a little depending on how much you pack down when measuring the dry. I did mine loose)
- 4
Heat oil that your going to deep fry in. To test temp I drop a few drops of flour into the oil. If it sizzles up its just about ready.
- 5
While its heating place thawed potato wedges out onto a paper towels and dry them off. Depending on how wet yours are you may have to gently pat down to remove excess liquid as I did cuz mine were kept frozen. They do sell some that aren't frozen.
- 6
Dunk potatoes one at a time into batter completely coating them and drop into hot oil. Wait till that one floats before dropping next one to prevent them from sticking together. Fry until a nice tan to brown color.
- 7
Keep going until all wedges are done.
- 8
Place done ones on a paper towel lined plate to drain of excess grease.
- 9
Serve hot!
- 10
Great for dipping in sauces or eating as is..
- 11
Enjoy!

Basic Fried Potatoes Basic Fried Potatoes
When I was young, I pored over ancient cookbooks. I couldn’t afford to take the family to dinner or fill a freezer with convenience foods because I was so broke. So I took what I learned from my mom and read every cookbook I could get my hands on, and started educating myself. If I couldn’t buy it, I would make it with inexpensive, bare bones ingredients. But first I had to learn HOW to make it. As we all know, we’re still in school 😂 my basics are, as an example, potatoes, eggs, cooked sauces, a chunk of meat, cakes, cookies, veg, etc. I’ve made a LOT of bad food in my life but I’ve also made really good stuff too. My first roast I ever made took 20 minutes, it was grey, and it bounced🤣🤣 With these basic recipes I’m posting, I’m hoping someone can get some good basic knowledge to feed themselves and their families good homemade food and not be a slave to the high prices. A sack of potatoes is cheaper than a bag of frozen fries and tastes waaaaay better and you get so much more bang for your buck with more than one serving and options.
