Crockpot Beef and Broccoli

Like many of our recipes, this is the result of trying a bunch of them and taking what I liked, and then tweaking it to make it my own. Its by far my familie's favorite version...hope you like it too :P

Ingredients

  1. 2 lbboneless beef sirloin steak or london broil, sliced into thin strips
  2. 1 canbeef consumme
  3. 1 tspgarlic powder
  4. 1/2 cuplow sodium soy sauce
  5. 2/3 cuppacked brown sugar
  6. 3 tbsphoney
  7. 2 tbspbutter, melted
  8. 1 1/2 tbspsesame oil
  9. 1 pinchginger, optional
  10. 1 bagfrozen broccoli
  11. 1/2 cupkikkoman sweet soy glaze *note* soy glaze is a syrupy textured mix of soy sauce, corn syrup, sugar, salt, msg, vinegar, and some preservatives*

Cooking Instructions

    Spray crockpot with cooking spray, add sliced beef. *tip* to make slicing easier, freeze beef for about one hour prior to slicing

    In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients except for broccoli. mix well and pour over beef

  3. 3

    Cook on low about 4 hours or until beef is cooked through.

    Cook broccoli and add to crockpot. stir to combine. cover and cook additional 30 minutes

  5. 5

    When all cooked, strain sauce into pan and slowly add 2 tbsps cornstarch. whisk until boiling to thicken. pour over food in crockpot and stir to combine well.

    Serve over rice of your choice, or egg noodles if you like. enjoy!

im an italian mom from nj with 3 very fussy eaters...3 kids (ages 16, 20 & 24) :D very hard to find dishes they all agree on, and now my oldest became a vegetarian so even harder! lol. but love this app and all the great people! i love cooking for and spending time with my family. all things beauty, true crime books and shows,and I'm very interested in homeopathic and natural cures, and living a positive and grateful life... and im a diehard NY Ranger fan.oh, and i LOVE bacon! so thats me :-)
