Ingredients

  1. 14 ozKielbasa - sliced to 1/4" rounds
  2. 1small head green cabbage - cored, quartered cut to 1/2" strips
  3. 2granny smith apples - cored, peeled, cut to 1/2" cubes
  4. 1/3 cuplow sodium chicken stock
  5. 1 tspsalt
  6. 1/2 tspcinnamon
  7. 1/4 tspblack pepper
  8. 2 tsphoney
  9. 1/4 tspcrushed red pepper flakes

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Heat a large deep sided sautée pan over medium high heat. Add just 1 tsp olive oil and kielbasa. Cook until Kielbasa begins to brown, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

Stir in cabbage. If you want softer apples, add them now too. If you want firmer apples, add them halfway through simmering during step 4.

  3. 3

Add salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Sautée 5 more minutes, stirring often. Add chicken stock. Reduce heat to medium low, cover with lid vented.

  4. 4

Simmer 15-20 minutes, or until cabbage and apples are cooked to your desired consistency. Stir in honey and red pepper flakes to finish. Enjoy!

Cooking is a hobby and a passion of mine. I love cooking and trying new and different things. The best thing about cooking? I get to prepare delicious food for my family and friends that they (almost) always love! Lol.Many of my recipes are experiments in what I could make with what was available at the time. Many are simply my version of classic and/or popular dishes. A few are variations of recipes I have found elsewhere online but adjusted to our tastes. No matter what, though, each of my recipes is tried and tested before posting and I hope you find as much joy in preparing them as I do.
