Great for a crock pot or fairly quick dinner. Everyone loves this and it's great leftover as well. Top with sour cream, cheddar or better yet, Velveeta. And it's cheap!

Ingredients

45-60 minutes
4-6 servings
  1. 1 lb.Ground beef (or ground pork, turkey, bison)
  2. 1/2onion
  3. 1/2green pepper (optional)
  4. 14 oz.can diced tomatoes
  5. 2 canstomato soup
  6. 8 oz.can tomato sauce (Redpack)
  7. 1 cankidney or chili beans
  8. 1 packagechili seasoning
  9. 14 oz.can beef broth (or bullion cube, Knorr is best)
  10. 1 tsp.Frank's Redhot (optional)

Cooking Instructions

45-60 minutes
  1. 1

Brown meat with onions (if using green pepper, celery or carrots, brown with the meat)

  2. 2

Add the rest of the ingredients to a large pot, then add the meat mixture.

  3. 3

Simmer on low until it boils, maybe 30 minutes, uncovered. Stir occasionally. No need to cover. You can add everything to a crock pot and let simmer as long as you want.

  4. 4

Add sour cream and/or cheese and serve! I use a packet of chili seasoning because it's 39 cents! If you shop at Aldi, this is a cheap meal you can feed your family for about $7! The Redhot doesn't make it spicy but adds a nice "tang". You can even use shredded beef. Replace the beef broth with 8 oz. lager (or amber beer).
