Egg and Tofu Stew - Delicious and Budget-Friendly

Saturday morning, feeling bored... usually go out for food with my husband, so no cooking plans... but today my husband had an unexpected errand, oh no...
Wanted to cook but confused since I haven't been to the market and the fridge is empty except for some tofu... hmm...
Browsing through my saved recipes, I found Egg and Tofu Stew by Susi Agung, perfect timing...
We always have eggs at home for spontaneous baking... haha
Without wasting time, I made this budget-friendly stew that's so flavorful... sweet, savory, as I love soy sauce... added more soy sauce... haha
Thanks for the inspiration, Susi! Love it!
Let's go, moms!

Beef Rib Stew (semur iga sapi) Beef Rib Stew (semur iga sapi)
Beef rib stew is one of our favorite foods in my little family, especially my husband. The stew is little bit spicy, savory, and sweet. In Indonesian Cuisine, we have a secret ingredient that maybe doesn't exist in other country, sweet soy sauce or we called it "kecap manis". This ingredient, basically similar with soy sauce but in its making, the producer adds sugar so we call it sweet soy sauce. This sauce is an important seasoning in the most Indonesian dishes. Beef Stew Beef Stew
It’s funny... I made some chili last week. As I was thinking in my head, “What the hell goes in chili”? I started saying, “Wait, no. This is sounding like a beef stew”. So... I decided to make a beef stew now. It’s cold now and these dishes warm the soul. I never appreciated beef stew when I was younger. But I realize how fine of a dish it is in my older age haha. Karl -
Vegetarian Soymilk Cream Stew Vegetarian Soymilk Cream Stew
I turned an easy soy milk soup recipe that I use often into creamy stew full of vegetables. I used to make the roux with butter and flour, but I'm limiting my butter intake these days...I used vegetable bouillon to avoid any animal products. The cornstarch sauce gave the sauce a smoother texture and turned out lighter tasting than the kind of cream sauce made with flour. The sweetness of winter daikon radish is the best match for this stew. Recipe by Saishokubeginnernano cookpad.japan -
Pork Stew with Rutabaga Pork Stew with Rutabaga
I created this for dinner last night and the husband says it's a keeper. The rich stew goes well with a side of rice. I think this tastes even better the next day, after the rutabaga has had a chance to mellow. If you make it let me know! I love to hear what you think about my recipes! Adam Janowski -
Silken Tofu Mizore Stew Silken Tofu Mizore Stew
I usually prepare a thick broth for silken tofu, and wondered what it would taste like if I made a recipe with a flavoring usually used for "agedashi dofu" (a deep-fried tofu dish). I created my own version of the following recipe: "No Deep-frying! Firm Tofu with a Deep-Fried Flavor",.Adjust the amount of daikon radish according to your preference. Also, the bitterness of the daikon radish changes with the season, so adjust the amount to taste. If you are preparing this for children who don't like grated daikon, divide the broth in Step 2 to make servings without it.
