Quick rava idli with leftovar daal sambhar

Cooking Instructions

Firstly in a kadhai heat oil and add mustard seeds chilli, hing and curry leaves, chana daal saute 1 min.

Keeping the flame low add 1cup rava and roast 5 min or untill the rava turns aromat.

Cool the rava completely and transfer to a bowl.Add curd and salt mix well form a thick batter.

Add half cup water and make smooth batter. Rest 15 min untill rava absorb the moisture.again mix and add water as required for idli batter if needed.

Grease the idli plate with little oil.just before steaming add eno or baking soda and mix well and immediately pour the battar in idli plate and steam it approx 10-12min on medium flame.

Leftovar daal sambhar- (1)cup leftovar tuar daal (2) 1tspoon oil (3)1tspoon mustard seeds(4) pinch of hing(5)2dry red chillies(6)few curry leaves (7) 1cup chopped veggies of ur choice. (8) tamarind water 1cup(9)salt as required(10)Jaggery 1 tspoon (11)sambhar masala 1 tspoon

Firstly steam the veggies untill 90%cooked. Heat a kadhai add tamrind water and Jaggery. On medium flame cook 2-3min untill start boiling then add stem veggied and salt.

Cook untill veggies are cooked completly. Add leftovar daal and sambhar masala.mix well.

In a tadka pan heat 1 tspoon oil add mustard seeds chana daal red chillies, hing and curry leaves prepare tadka. Add in sambhar and mix well. Sambhar is ready.

If you dont have much time you can cook without or with less veggies. Steaming veggies reduce the time of cooking veggies in normal sambhar.
