Ingredients

  1. 1.2 lbsraw steak, cut into strips, trimmed
  2. 1/2 cupwhite or yellow onions, diced
  3. 3 clovesgarlic, minced
  4. fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  5. 1 cuplow sodium chicken or beef broth, warmed
  6. 1/2 cuplow sodium soy sauce or tamari
  7. 1/3 cupbrown sugar, packed
  8. 1 TBSPsesame oil
  9. 1/4-1/2 tspred pepper flakes
  10. 2-3 TBSPcornstarch, to thicken
  11. 3-4 cupfresh broccoli, steamed
  12. white rice, prepared

Cooking Instructions

    Add steak, onions, garlic and fresh ginger into the slow cooker.

    In a medium size bowl, stir together broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until brown sugar has dissolved.

    Pour mixture into a slow cooker and stir.

    Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until steak is tender to your liking.

    Stir in cornstarch to thicken the sauce.

    Taste and adjust seasonings if desired.

    To serve, place rice on a plate and top with beef and broccoli. Garnish with red pepper flakes and sesame seeds.
