Scallop Soup with Rice Scallop Soup with Rice
A friend of me sent me some dried scallops, and I wanted to turn them into something tasty. My city is getting colder at night (for our standard, that is. I live in the biggest archipelago in the world) so I wanted to make something warm. This dish is very simple and tasty. Adjust the salt to your liking. You might want to add more, but I think a pinch is enough. Angela Mertoyono -
Slow Cooker Johnny Soup Slow Cooker Johnny Soup
What do you do when Peapod sends Cannellini Beans instead of Split Peas? Make Johnny Soup instead. I was skeptical at first, but once I smelled the aromas from the slow cooker I was hooked. For this soup, we used leftover ham, but you can use a ham steak, ham hock, etc. You can also use stock or broth, but just plain water was really good. It is up to you. This is basically the same recipe as my Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup, which is really good. It is all good, but I really love the carrots in it. There is just something so good about carrots from the slow cooker.Good luck during those 8 hours that it is cooking. I wanted to eat asap, but I had to wait. It was so good, that even my fussy son liked it. And he does not like soup.Enjoy! J.A.B. -
Daikon Radish Miso Soup with Small Dried Sardines Daikon Radish Miso Soup with Small Dried Sardines
It's ok to use dashi stock powder, but it's not quite as tasty as dashi, which took a long time to make. It's a waste to throw away the dried sardines after making dashi, so I left them in the soup. You can enjoy their taste by chewing them well. The dashi tastes better if you soak the dried sardines in water for a long time. If you soak them the day before, it comes handy when you make breakfast. Recipe by sachie mama cookpad.japan -
Instant pot navy bean and ham soup Instant pot navy bean and ham soup
I love my instant pot and I wanted to make a bean soup from dried beans that didn't take all day. From start to finish this recipe took about hour and half between chopping and waiting for pressure to build. Still not bad for a soup that usually takes several hours just soften. The beans in this recipe come out soft, and the liquid is thickened as well by them. This recipe also freezes really well too for up to a month. DMG -
Hakka Ka Chiam Ma Chicken Soup Hakka Ka Chiam Ma Chicken Soup
Chicken cooked/stewed in Ka Chiam Ma or dried motherworts. A very popular dish loved by many at home, but for people outside our region, they may not like it at all. There are many ways to cook this dish. We love them all. We can't find this in Australia, and haven't had the luck with Asian shops so far as well, so we brought this herbs all the way from Borneo. The herbs kept well in the pantry for a long time. It is nice to have it once in a while whenever i crave for food from home.#tasteofhome #motherworts #herbs #spices #asian #kuching #borneo #sarawak #Hakka #chinese #stew #chinese #breakfast #lunch #dinner Pinkblanket's Kitchen -
Chopsuey Soup (Ho To Tai) Chopsuey Soup (Ho To Tai)
Chopsuey (chop or "tsap" means 10; and sui means vegetables) in Chinese Amoy dialect literally means "ten vegetables". It is basically a mix of sorts of vegetables easily available in the market with meat. while some say that it is a mix of leftover food. Either way, chopsuey is a stir fry of vegetables and meat. A few vegetables will do for this dish but I like keeping my Chopsuey true to its meaning: 10 different kinds of vegetables in one. The more the merrier (delicious and nutritious), right? :DHubby told me that the "old" chinese kitchen actually use innards instead of seafood or meat cuts when cooking chopsuey. Nah, it's not my type of plate.And.... my photo is not the best - again- because we end up eating the served dish before I got to take a proper picture. (T-T) bemski
