Onion pakoras or fritters are deep fried snack and very tasty.Made with gramflour and adding few masalas it serves as a great evening snack with a cup of tea specially during the monsoon season or cold winter days.This is also a famous street food and best served with green chutney and tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  1. 2medium onions sliced thinly
  2. 1/2 cupgram flour
  3. 2 tbsprice flour
  4. 1 tbspcornflour
  5. 3-4green chillies chopped
  6. To tastesalt
  7. 1/4th tsp turmeric
  8. 1/4 tspred chilli powder (optional)
  9. 1 tbspcoriander chopped or few curry leaves (optional)
  10. 1 pinchbaking soda
  11. 1-2 tbspwater or as needed
  12. 1 cupoil approximately for frying
  13. 1/4 tsp ajwain

Cooking Instructions

    Slice onions finely.Place them in a bowl and add salt,gramflour and other masalas.Leave it aside for few minutes.Onion releases water.Add 1 tbsp warm oil.Add chopped coriander or curry leaves.Sift all together and adjust salt.Sprinkle little water so that gramflour coats the onion.Add ajwain.Heat oil in a wok and fry pakoras in high heat in batches till crispy.Serve hot with coriander,mint chutney and tomato sauce.
