Okara Mochi with Rice Bran Okara Mochi with Rice Bran
I'm creating easy-to-make recipes using rice bran, which is rich in vitamin B. Okara mochi is less floury than rice bran, and it hides the distinctive aroma of the rice bran, so these can be enjoyed even by those who don't like rice bran. Serve them as a small snack or for dessert.Adding sake midway through the process eliminates the smell of the rice bran. Adjust the cooking time depending on your microwave with the time indicated in the recipe as a reference. Try using rice bran powder, if you prefer. Feel free to also adjust the ratio of ingredients. Mixed Rice with Autumn Shimeji Mushroom and Aburaage Mixed Rice with Autumn Shimeji Mushroom and Aburaage
My kid basically loves flavored rice and eats a lot. For example - carrots and aburaage, shiitake mushrooms and aburaage...well, as long as I add aburaage, it seems to give the rice a strong enough flavor that my kid will eat it, even if there's no meat in it.The amount of water needed depends on the type of pressure cooker you have, so please read the instructions before you try this recipe. My pressure cooker instructions say to use 360 ml of water for making white rice, but the rice I use came out a bit hard, so I changed the amount of water to 380 ml. The amount of water might need to be adjusted for the type of rice you use. Recipe by Ha-tannookkasan cookpad.japan -

Chestnut Rice Made with Mochi Rice (Okowa) Made in a Rice Cooker Chestnut Rice Made with Mochi Rice (Okowa) Made in a Rice Cooker
We received a lot of chestnuts as a gift, and this is the first thing I wanted to make with them!Cooking okowa rice takes a bit of effort, but if you just do it in a rice cooker, it's easy.Chestnut rice is something you want to eat at least once every fall.I made okowa because I had mochi (sweet) rice on hand, but you can make chestnut rice with regular Japanese-stylel rice as well.Since it's cooked in a rice cooker, you can make this easily at any time! Rice Cooked with Corn Rice Cooked with Corn
My in-laws (who are farmers) send us tons of corn on the cob every year.Since it's fresh and in season, it tastes delicious when boiled and seasoned simply with salt, but we always look forward to cooking it with rice. The cobs add really good flavor to rice when cooked together. My younger sister, who is a very good cook, taught me that trick.Use as much or as little butter as you want! Of course, it also tastes great without any butter at all. Yuba Ankake Sauce with Rice (Kyoto Obanzai Style) Yuba Ankake Sauce with Rice (Kyoto Obanzai Style)
I forgot the name of the restaurant, but I've been hooked on this ever since I had it in a restaurant in Kyoto's Ponto district!! We often eat this at home because it's not only delicious, it's also easy and healthy.-This is so easy that I don't have any tips, but the broth will become rich. Make sure not to over-boil it.-You can give the dish a different feel by chilling it and adding in winter pumpkin or grilled eggplant.-I recommend using a deep bowl and topping it with lots of an sauce if you are serving it as a rice bowl. Kabocha Rice Made in Rice Cooker Kabocha Rice Made in Rice Cooker
Simple and fragrant. I made this for iftar and kids complained because it smelled sooo good. I used fermented garlic+candlenut. You can replace it with regular oil, but I reckon it won't smell as good. Maybe you can fry some garlic first and use the oil. I use a type of rice with the ratio of 1:1.5 (rice:water) so you might want to adjust to the type of rice that you usually cook. Angela Mertoyono
