When you don’t know what to do with celery sitting in the fridge, this is a great way to consume quickly. This is a slight modified recipe from Japanese Cookpad. Easy and tastes great!

Ingredients

  1. 4 stalkscelery
  2. 1 tablespoondashi powder
  3. 1 tablespoonsugar (Japanese sugar better)
  4. 1 tablespoonwhite vinegar (Japanese rice vinegar better)
  5. 1-2 table spoonsalt
  6. 1-2dry red chilli pepper

Cooking Instructions

    Slice celery with some angles against the fiber.

    In a freezer bag, place all condiments (dashi, sugar, vinegar, salt, crushed dry chilli pepper). This dry pepper is usually available at Asian shop.

    Add sliced celery to the bag and zip tight letting air out. Press celery with a little pressure for a few minutes until celery release moisture. Put the bag in a fridge for 20 minutes. Ready to eat.
