Cooking Instructions

In this recipe we will be using caking method and the flavour we want in the soup is uziza flavor

Blend ur egusi to powder, blend ur crayfish and ogiri okpei, and blend ur uziza seed to powder add water in it and set aside

Blend ur pepper, and set aside

Wash ur protein items, fish, chicken,stock fish and put into a pot add seasoning cube,onion,salt and cook till well tendered

Wen ur protein items are well done remove from the stock and filter the blended uziza water into the stock, we do not want the sandy part of the uziza wat we need is just the liquid therein

Add in the egusi powder into the stock and stir till their is no lump allow to cook, stir add water stir allow to cook till the natural oil of egusi show on it surface, here u can add in the palm oil, crayfish and allow to cook for about 5-7mins more

Then add in the pepper,protein items, and stir cover to cook together

Then check for the taste add salt, seasoning cubes, if necessary, add in the vegetables cover and allow to cook together for about 3mins and stir together then turn off the heat

#Ashlab.Okro soup has been one of the most easiest and quickest soup to prepare.some argue that okro takes a lot of time and energy to make,but for me I used the blender method to blend my okro and ogbonno due to the fact that I don’t like the smell that comes from ogbonno,So blending it together with the okro removes the smell and also gives it a nice taste.It’s known as miyan kubewa in Hausa.I love everything about okro soup mixed with ogbonno,especially that part of draw,which makes it fun while eating. Blending your belly pepper,chilly pepper with the garlic,onions and cray fish gives the paste a nice aroma and also taste.Least I forget I used the processed okro because I couldn’t get the fresh okro here .You can cut spinach and add to your okro soup.Don’t forget to wash your hands before you start cooking and also wash all the veggies that needs to be washed. I have never made pumpkin soup also I never ate cooked pumpkin. There was nothing to cook at home and I thought of making Pumpkin Soup and to taste it.(husband loves pumpkin so no worries ;-) ) so made this easy recipe with the things I had at home..
