Ingredients

10 servings
  1. 2.2 lbsflauta-style corn tortillas (about 1 kg)
  2. 1 pieceshredded beef
  3. 5-6cooked tomatoes
  4. 1garlic clove and a pinch of oregano
  5. Lettuce
  6. Sour cream
  7. Crumbled Cotija cheese (dry cheese)
  8. Salt and sugar
  9. 8 1/2 cupscorn oil (about 2 liters)

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Cook the tomatoes with a garlic clove, then blend them. Add oregano, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of sugar.

  2. 2

    For best results, use fresh tortillas—they are easier to roll.

  3. 3

    Fill and roll all the tortillas, then fry them in batches. Use very hot oil so they turn out crispy.

  4. 4

    For serving, have your lettuce chopped, washed, and dried.

  5. 5

    Have your cheese grated and ready.

  6. 6

    If you like, you can make a spicy salsa.
