Ingredients

  1. 4 1/2 poundsdried chickpeas
  2. 3 clovesgarlic, crushed
  3. 1potato
  4. 3 tablespoonsdried cilantro
  5. 3 tablespoonsfalafel spices
  6. 1 tablespoonblack pepper
  7. 2 tablespoonscumin
  8. 1 tablespoonbaking powder
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Vegetables:
  11. Lettuce,
  12. Tomato,
  13. Mint,
  14. For serving
  15. Sandwiches
  16. Tahini sauce
  17. Pickles, for garnish

Cooking Instructions

    Place the chickpeas in a food processor and grind until you have a fine chickpea mixture. Then, put it in a bowl, add all the spices and salt, and mix well until you have a sticky mixture.

    Grate the potato to make the falafel patties crispier.

    Refrigerate the mixture for an hour to let it firm up.

    Use the traditional falafel mold to shape the mixture, then fry in hot oil. Each patty needs no more than 4 minutes.
