First, shell the peas and rinse them. Cut the paneer into cubes.

In a pot, add 1 cup water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat for 5 minutes.

Heat ghee or butter in a skillet. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, and asafoetida. Add the onion paste and sauté. Add the ginger-garlic paste. Once sautéed, add all the spices and cook on low heat.

Add the tomato paste and cook on high heat. Then add the peas. Add water as needed. After 4 minutes, add the paneer and bring to a boil.

Garnish with cream and serve hot with chapati.
